🀄️ What an Amazing August at Crak Bam Mahj!

August at Crak Bam Mahj felt like the studio got hit with a joyful tile‑storm — jokers flying, bams booming, and the whole place buzzing with that signature Crak Bam energy. Classes were overflowing, Social Plays were nonstop, and we had more “OH! I finally get it!” breakthroughs than any month so far.

August was packed with milestone moments and major Mahj magic. Our Crak Bam Bro program wrapped up with eight awesome Bros learning, growing, and slinging tiles with confidence — the transformation from “What’s a joker?” to “I’ve got this hand!” was incredible to watch.

We also launched our first-ever Tournament Prep class and it was a huge success. The focus, the strategy talk, the competitive sparkle… the room was electric. Players walked out feeling sharper, faster, and ready to take on any table.

More Social Plays, more breakthroughs, more laughter echoing through the studio — August truly felt like Crak Bam Mahj leveling up in real time.

Lucky Ducks were quacking all over the place, laughter echoed from every table, and the competitive‑but‑friendly spirit was absolutely electric.

The momentum just keeps building. This community is thriving, expanding, and becoming an even more joyful, connected, slightly tile‑addicted family — and watching Crak Bam Mahj grow like this has been the absolute highlight of my month.

An amazing group of Crak Bam Mahj players will be participating in a local tournament on Sunday, November 1, and we couldn’t be more proud of them. To help everyone feel confident, prepared, and ready to shine at the tables, I’m bringing back the Tournament Prep Workshop!

This 3‑hour workshop is designed to help you walk into the tournament feeling steady, strategic, and ready to play your absolute best game.

If the rules, timing, pace, or the possibility of being called “dead” make you a little nervous, you’re in good company — and this session will give you the clarity you’ve been looking for.

What We’ll Cover

🀄 How tournament rules and differ from casual play

🀄 Understanding scoring, managing your scorecard, and the seat rotation

🀄 What “dead” really means, and how to avoid it

🀄 Timing, pace, and how to stay calm under the clock

🀄 Etiquette, expectations, and how to feel confident at the table

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a solid understanding of how tournaments run, what to expect at the table, and how to stay focused under pressure.

🦆Fall Lucky Duck Update

If you’ve been wondering how to join our flock of Lucky Duck winners, it’s simple — every time you Mahj in a class or Social Play, you earn a duck! Each Mahj adds another cheerful little duck to your collection… and every duck is a chance to win a prize.

And just in time for fall — new Ducks are officially in town. You all quacked so enthusiastically last month that we had to place a rush order.

Watching everyone collect ducks has become one of my favorite traditions. Some players tuck them into their bags like tiny treasures, others line them up like a pumpkin‑patch cheering squad, and a few have built full‑on duck dynasties that would make any autumn harvest proud.

So who’s next to join the fun?

🍁 This Month’s Touching Moment

This month’s touching moment comes from a couple who had been struggling to learn the game. They had taken a few classes with another local instructor and were feeling more confused than confident — and with an extended family beach vacation coming up, they really wanted to finally understand Mahjong so they could play with everyone.

They reached out to Crak Bam Mahj and we jumped into action.

We started with a private lesson to rebuild their foundation, slow things down, and explain the game in a clear, logical way that made everything finally click. By the end of that session, you could see the relief on their faces!

From there, they were ready to jump right into a Crak Bam Let’s Play class, where they practiced, asked great questions, and started building real confidence. Their determination was inspiring, they wanted to show up to that family vacation ready to play, and they absolutely put in the work.

And then came the best part.

After they left for their trip, I received an email with a photo of his very first Mahj — tiles lined up beautifully. I cannot tell you how heartwarming it was to open that email. It was one of those moments that reminds me exactly why I love teaching this game and building this community.

Helping someone go from discouraged to delighted… from confused to confident… from “I don’t think I can do this” to “Look, I Mahj’d!” — that’s the magic of Crak Bam Mahj!

Thank you all for the incredible support, enthusiasm, and kindness you continue to bring to Crak Bam Mahj. This community grows stronger because of you — your energy at the tables, your willingness to stretch yourselves, and the excitement you bring every time you sit down to play.

This past month was full of players stepping outside their comfort zones and taking real risks — the good kind. Our Crak Bam Bro class wrapped up with eight fantastic Bros who showed up curious, determined, and ready to laugh their way through learning. Watching them grow week by week was an absolute highlight. We also offered out first Crak Bam Kids class which was loads of fun and load of flying duckies!
