July at Crak Bam Mahj felt like someone plugged the studio into a power source made entirely of jokers, bams, and pure joy. Classes packed, Social Plays buzzing, and more “Wait… I think I finally get it!” moments than I could count.

We welcomed tons of new faces, reunited with our regulars, and watched players level up so fast it felt like the tiles were cheering them on. More Lucky Duck winners than ever before, laughter was constant, and the competitive-but-friendly energy was off the charts. A few of you even declared yourselves “Mahj obsessed,” and honestly… same.

The momentum is real, this community is thriving, and watching Crak Bam Mahj grow into this joyful, connected, slightly mahjong-obsessed family has been the highlight of my entire month.

✨ Tournament Prep Workshop ✨

Whether you’re gearing up for a local community tournament or stepping into a national event, this 3‑hour workshop is designed to help you walk in feeling confident, prepared, and ready to play your best game.

If the rules, timing, pace, or the possibility of being called “dead” make you a little nervous, you’re in good company — and this session will give you the clarity you’ve been looking for.

What We’ll Cover

🀄 How tournament rules and differ from casual play

🀄 Understanding scoring, managing your scorecard, and the seat rotation

🀄 What “dead” really means, and how to avoid it

🀄 Timing, pace, and how to stay calm under the clock

🀄 Etiquette, expectations, and how to feel confident at the table

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a solid understanding of how tournaments run, what to expect at the table, and how to stay focused under pressure.

• 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM A full, relaxed day of Mahj including lunch — perfect for settling in, enjoying great company, and playing at your own pace.

• 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM An afternoon session with snacks, drinks, and all the Mahj magic you can handle.

• 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM A new evening session starting in August — snacks, drinks, and that cozy nighttime Mahj vibe.

You’ll enjoy a selection of Parisian bites, curated to complement the pace of play and add a little indulgence.

🦆Lucky Duck Update

If you’ve been wondering how to become one of our Lucky Duck winners, the secret is simple — every time you Mahj in a class or Social Play, you earn a duck! Each Mahj adds another duck friend to your flock… and every duck is a chance to win a prize.

And let’s talk about last month. You all quacked your hearts out — so much so that we had to place a rush order for more ducks because we handed out over 250 Lucky Ducks in just a few weeks. The duck craze is real!

Watching everyone collect ducks has become its own joyful spectacle. Some players guard them like tiny treasures, others line them up like a cheering squad, and a few have started building full‑on duck dynasties.

So who’s next?

Thank you all for the incredible support, enthusiasm, and kindness you continue to bring to Crak Bam Mahj. This community grows stronger because of you, your energy at the tables, your willingness to stretch yourselves, and the joy you share every time you sit down to play.

This past month has been full of players stepping outside their comfort zones and taking real risks — the good kind. Our Bro class kicked off last week with eight players and it was awesome, full of curiosity, big laughs, and players ready to push themselves in new ways.

One moment that truly captured the heart of Crak Bam Mahj came from a student who arrived feeling discouraged. She had taken three Mahjong classes elsewhere and still felt like the game “just wasn’t clicking.” She came to Crak Bam Mahj for one last try, a final attempt to learn the game she hoped she could love.

After the very first class, she pulled me aside and said, “No one has ever explained it clearly, concisely, and logically the way you just did.” That made me smile… but even better, she’s now in love with the game. She’s playing confidently, showing up often, and can’t get enough of it. Watching someone go from frustrated to flourishing is exactly why I do what I do.
