Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that Mahjong should be joyful, social, and accessible. I want every player to walk into class feeling welcomed and walk out feeling more confident than when they arrived.
Three values guide the way I teach:
Community: Mahj is a game that brings people together, and I teach with that spirit at the center. My classes are collaborative, friendly, and fun, with an emphasis on connection as much as technique.
Clarity: I break down the game in a way that feels simple, modern, and unintimidating. I focus on the “why” behind each decision so players can build real understanding, not just memorize moves.
Joy: Above all, I want the game to feel good. My classes are upbeat, supportive, and infused with the same passion I felt watching my mother and grandmother play. I want you to love the game, not just learn it.
